STATEMENT OF FAITH

What we believe shapes what we build, what we teach, and why Sheep Food exists.

— What We Believe

OUR CONVICTIONS GROUND THE MISSION.

Sheep Food Ministries is a faith-based nonprofit rooted in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18–20). Everything we do — the tools we create, the resources we curate, the conversations we spark — flows from what we believe about God, Scripture, humanity, and the gospel of Jesus Christ. This Statement of Faith defines the theological convictions that unite our board, guide our mission, and ground our message. All directors, officers, and staff are required to affirm these beliefs as a condition of service.

I

THE HOLY SCRIPTURES

We believe the Bible — the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments — is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God. Scripture is without error in all that it affirms, and it is the supreme and final authority for all matters of faith, doctrine, and conduct. We receive it not as a human document but as God’s own revelation to humanity, breathed out by the Holy Spirit through human authors.

2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21; Psalm 119:160

II

THE NATURE OF GOD

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three co-equal, co-eternal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person is fully and distinctly God, yet there is only one God. God is holy, sovereign, omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent. He is the Creator and Sustainer of all things, and He is perfectly loving, just, merciful, and faithful in all His ways.

Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Genesis 1:1

III

JESUS CHRIST

We believe in the full deity and full humanity of Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, and willingly gave Himself as an atoning sacrifice for the sins of humanity through His death on the cross. He rose bodily from the dead on the third day, ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father, where He intercedes for us. He will return personally and visibly to judge the living and the dead and to establish His eternal kingdom.

John 1:1,14; Isaiah 7:14; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Acts 1:11; Hebrews 7:25

IV

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, who convicts the world of sin, regenerates the hearts of those who believe, indwells every believer at the moment of salvation, and empowers the church for holy living and faithful witness. The Holy Spirit illuminates Scripture, produces the fruit of Christlike character in believers, and guides the church in fulfilling the Great Commission.

John 16:8–11; Romans 8:9; Galatians 5:22–23; Acts 1:8

V

HUMANITY AND SIN

We believe God created humanity in His image — male and female — with inherent dignity, worth, and purpose. Through the disobedience of Adam and Eve, sin entered the world and corrupted human nature. As a result, all people are born spiritually separated from God, inclined toward sin, and unable to restore themselves to right relationship with Him through their own effort, goodness, or religion. The consequences of sin are both temporal and eternal.

Genesis 1:26–27; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:1–3

VI

SALVATION

We believe that salvation — the forgiveness of sin and the restoration of relationship with God — is available to all people, but only through personal faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus is the only way to the Father (John 14:6), the only name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received through repentance and faith, and not earned by human merit or religious works. All who genuinely believe in Christ are justified before God, adopted as His children, and granted the gift of eternal life.

John 3:16; John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 10:9–10

VII

THE CHURCH

We believe the universal Church is the body of Christ, composed of all who have been born again through faith in Jesus Christ. The local church is a community of believers who gather to worship God, study Scripture, observe baptism and the Lord’s Supper, encourage one another, and bear witness to the gospel. Every believer is called to be an active, contributing member of a local church and to participate in the mission God has entrusted to His people.

Matthew 16:18; Ephesians 1:22–23; Hebrews 10:24–25; Acts 2:42–47

VIII

THE GREAT COMMISSION

We believe the Great Commission — Christ’s command to make disciples of all nations — is the defining mission of the Church and the primary calling of every believer. Sharing the gospel is not optional for the follower of Christ; it is an act of obedience, love, and urgency rooted in the reality that every person without Christ is lost. Sheep Food Ministries exists to equip and mobilize believers to fulfill this commission with boldness, truth, grace, and love.

Matthew 28:18–20; Romans 10:14–15; 2 Corinthians 5:18–20; Mark 16:15

IX

ETERNAL DESTINY

We believe in the bodily resurrection of all people — believers to eternal life in the presence of God, and those who have rejected Christ to eternal separation from God. Heaven is a real place of eternal joy, worship, and communion with God. Hell is a real place of eternal conscious separation from God and all that is good. The reality of eternity gives weight and urgency to the gospel and to the mission of Sheep Food Ministries.

John 5:28–29; Revelation 20:11–15; Revelation 21:1–4; Matthew 25:46

X

THE RETURN OF CHRIST

We believe in the personal, visible, and bodily return of Jesus Christ. He will return to consummate His kingdom, judge the living and the dead, and make all things new. The certainty of His return motivates holy living, faithful witness, and urgent proclamation of the gospel to all people in every generation.

Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Revelation 22:20; Titus 2:13
